How do I know if therapy or an evaluation is right for me, my child, or my family?

If you or your child is navigating persistent anxiety, mood shifts, behavioral challenges, academic struggles, or difficult life transitions, a consultation can help determine the best path forward. Therapy provides active support through addressing target symptoms and reducing distress.

What can I expect during the initial 15-minute phone consultation?

The free 15-minute phone consultation gives us a chance to briefly discuss your current concerns, answer your questions regarding practice policies and approach, and confirm if Dr. DeYoung's clinical expertise matches your specific goals.

What happens during the 2-hour intake session?

The comprehensive 2-hour intake is a collaborative session where Dr. DeYoung gathers background history, reviews current symptoms and strengths, and collaborates with you to establish clear, evidence-based treatment goals.

Do you offer virtual (telehealth) sessions or in-person therapy?

I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments and am flexible to adjust session format as needed during treatment.

What ages do you work with?

I work with children, adolescents, and young adults.

How long are therapy sessions and how frequently do clients meet?

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and typically scheduled on a weekly basis. Session frequency is adjusted dynamically based on client progress and clinical needs.

Do you accept health insurance or provide out-of-network superbills?

Dr. DeYoung is an out-of-network provider. Detailed monthly statements (superbills) can be provided for you to submit to your health insurance carrier for out-of-network reimbursement according to your plan's benefits.

Do you work with clients outside of Pennsylvania?

At this time, I can only provide services to clients who are physically located inPennsylvania during sessions.

How are parents and caregivers involved in a child's treatment?

Parent involvement is an essential component of youth therapy. Depending on your child’s needs, treatment may include full sessions conducted exclusively or primarily with caregivers, joint family sessions, and/or periodic parent check-ins. These sessions provide caregivers with guidance and practical strategies to support the child’s progress across home, school, and daily settings.

15-minute consultation call: Free
2-hour Intake Session: $500
50-minute therapy session: $200

What is a postdoctoral clinician?

A postdoctoral clinician has earned a doctoral degree in psychology and completed advanced clinical training. Dr. DeYoung is currently completing supervised postdoctoral experience required for licensure. During this period, she provides services under the supervision of licensed psychologist Dr. Melanie Klein, with whom she regularly consults about treatment. Dr. DeYoung remains your primary clinician, while all billing and formal consent documents are handled through Dr. Klein.
